Microsoft Innovation Center in Poland
The Microsoft Innovation Centre opened in Poznań on June 1st. It's aim is to support innovative solutions and technologies in the field of computer security and outsourcing services. The Centre is the result of cooperation between Microsoft, the Poznań Supercomputer-Network Centre and Poznań Polytechnic.
According to a ranking prepared by the British research center Economist Intelligence Unit Poland is the fifth most attractive country for international corporations decentralizing their operations. By launching it's innovation center in Poznań Microsoft confirmed high attractiveness of Polish IT human resources.
The center will use the R&D potential of Supercomputing and Networking Center in Poznań. It has also formed a technological partnership with Intel, which will provide most modern equipment. Microsoft Innovation Centers in the world are the platform of cooperation in scientific research on technologies and IT solutions between governments, universities and businesses. The goal is to accelerate the use of new technologies.
Microsoft Innovation Center in Poznań will provide consulting services for universities, local self-governments, health care authorities and small and medium sized enterprises. The long-term strategy encompasses not solely development of the products but also research in more general issues such as basic research and solutions on programming engineering and information technologies.
Microsoft Innovation Centers in the world act as technology incubators, facilities positively influencing increase in local economy’s competitiveness through investments in human resources and facilitating access to knowledge and technologies.
