AEGON is a finance and insurance institution specializing in creating and managing individual, long-term investment plans. Its rapid growth in Poland is based on offering investment plans throughout a network of agents and brokers.
The key to the success of company’s expansion policy on the Polish market lies in efficient communication between AEGON head office and its sales network.
AEGON's extranet, launched under the name of SPEC.net, is part of a complex Internet project composed of a public web site and a sales network communication environment.
Project description
The solution has been developed by e-point SA on Active Content platform. All the phases of the project, including designing the Extranet, development of applications, testing&implementation, were completed within three months.
The Extranet covers two target groups: the company's agents and an external network of branch offices (brokers) which offer AEGON's products. The task of e-point SA was to design application functionality and content for two separate groups of end-users, depending on their status in the distribution network.
The most important objective of the project was to provide the sales network with fast and exclusive access to AEGON news and market information (investment advisors comments, market surveys, everyday press reviews) and to equip them with a financial tool facilitating the process of creating an offer (investment portfolio) for an individual client. This function is mainly delivered by a system that presents the results of individual investment funds which are part of AEGON's offer. This tool presents current quotes uploaded from the Reuter's service and internal company systems, and makes it possible to generate comparisons in the form of tables or charts.
Agents can also use discussion forum and interactive forms for submitting questions, provided in SPEC.net. When logged in, an agent can at any time browse through his AEGON supervisor’s data and his contacts. SPEC.net. also provides an archive of training documents and news service on contests and its results. An additional functionality is a web catalogue of marketing gadgets through which one can order promotional items, such as T-shirts, company calendars, pens.
Thanks to the advanced content management functionality of the extranet, AEGON employees can manage all the system content: published documents, site structure, tables, links, pictures, file attachments, etc. Admin module enables the management of user privileges and individual applications.
